The redevelopment of Troon station has seen new concepts unveiled for the local community through Network Rail,
which presents three options for the renovation of platform one’s station building.
The final choice for the work would see a modern interpretation of the old building erected,
ressing the town's infrastructure forward to meet contemporary standards.
These concepts were unveiled at a community drop-in where the local residents of Troon were afforded the first look at the three options.
Locals also had the opportunity to ask the project team any questions they had about the design, construction.
The project will then commence in November, with the aim of completing construction of the station building in time
for The Open golf tournament being held in Troon in July 2024.
Jo Noble, Network Rail’s sponsor said,"The level of interest in the redevelopment of the station was phenomenal.
We are grateful that the people of Troon took the time to come and see what we are proposing and to share their views with us.
