How Lunch Breaks Affect Work Hours
An unpaid lunch is removed from the time between clock-in and clock-out. A paid lunch remains part of worked time, so use the No lunch break option when the break should not be deducted. This makes the tool useful as both a lunch break calculator and an employee hours calculator.
How to Calculate Work Hours Manually
Total Worked Time = Clock Out − Clock In − Unpaid Breaks
For example, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM is 9 hours. Subtract a 30-minute unpaid lunch to get 8 hours 30 minutes of worked time.
