An irregular verb is a type of verb in English that does not follow the regular pattern of conjugation for past tense and past participle forms. Instead of adding “-ed” to the base form to create these forms, irregular verbs undergo unique changes or have completely different forms altogether.

Some examples of irregular verbs include “go” (went, gone), “eat” (ate, eaten), and “have” (had).

Most irregular verbs are the same in all participle forms like put, cut, bid, hurt, etc. Also, there are some more complex in its different forms, examples such as brought, bring, etc.
